Bill’s love for all things tax related is only followed closely by his love for the real estate market in Richmond.  When he’s not stalking new houses on realtor.com, learning more about the City of Richmond’s architecture and history, or renovating his current residence, Bill helps his clients with their tax questions.  After years of honing his detail-oriented personality to a fine point, he is now the master at leveraging his knowledge of tax issues to help his clients grow, succeed, and prosper.

Bill may have been born in New York, but he might as well have been born and bred in Richmond due to his love for the city.  Bill earned his B.S. in Accounting from the University of Richmond in 1989.  He earned his Virginia CPA license in 1993.

Prior to public accounting, Bill held accounting and trust officer positions at Bank of America from 1990 through 1999.  His experience in the corporate sector has shaped Bill into the kind of CPA you can’t live without – one who understands your business and personal goals first and foremost.  A small business owner himself, his ability to quickly get to the heart of a matter and advise clients on what works best for their situation makes his clients rabid fans.

Bill is married with three children and resides within the city limits of Richmond.  He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Virginia Society of Public Accounts, the Estate Planning Council of Richmond, a Fellow of the AICPA Academy of Tax Advisors for Small Businesses, a member of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Planned Giving Advisory Council, a member of the St. Paul’s Planned Giving Committee, and a board member for the Hayes Hitzeman Foundation, an organization dedicated to research and education on Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

In Bill’s free time, he enjoys golf, family activities, and a little light reading, including “Tax Codes Through the Century”.

If Ellen wasn’t an accountant, she’d be opening for various bands with her one-woman guitar show or doing stand-up comedy.  Instead, Ellen has been perfecting the art of accounting and finance for many years – much to the delight of her clients.

Ellen holds a B.A. in Biology from the University of Virginia (1983) and has a secondary education certificate from the University of Virginia (1984).  She received her accounting degree from University of California Santa Barbara in 1991, and obtained her CPA license in Georgia in 1997.  She obtained her Virginia CPA license in 1999.

Ellen’s background is varied.  She cut her teeth in the business world by holding a variety of positions within Kinko’s, Inc. from 1981-1999, including branch management, sales and accounts receivable analysis, contract accounting, finance analysis, manager of the budget and finance analysis division, and a corporate controller.  In 1999, she joined the world of public accounting as a senior accountant.  She took responsibility as the senior audit manager for the non-profit industry team in 2000, and still focuses a large percentage of her time on the non-profit area.

Her secondary education certificate may be part of the reason that Ellen is one of the best teachers of accounting and finance principles.  Instead of simply pointing out accounting errors, Ellen consults with and teaches her clients how to keep better books and stay out of the way of audits.

Ellen is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants, the National Association of Women Business Owners,  and the American Business Women’s Association.  She is a Fellow of the AICPA Academy of Tax Advisors for Small Businesses and was nominated as a Virginia Business Super CPA in Assurance Services, 2005.

Ellen has a dopey but wonderful Golden Retriever named Bailey, loves playing the guitar and exercising, and is a fanatical wannabe LPGA tour member.
